How to Play Texas Holdem
The rules for Texas Holdem Poker are fairly simple. The player with the best hand wins. It does not get much easier then that does it. Texas Holdem is a great game for the true lover of poker. It has 4 rounds for betting giving it the potential for some real large pots.
In Texas Holdem at the start of the round only the little blind and the big blind have to place bets. The little blind places half the table minimum in the pot and the big blind places the table minimum in the pot. After this each player is dealt 2 hole cards.
At this point in a Texas Holdem game is known as the pre-flop, and a round of betting commences. A player can raise call or fold his cards.
After the betting is over the dealer will deal 3 cards face up onto the table. In Texas Holdem this is called the flop. These cards are communal cards to be used by everyone to make their hands.
After the flop there is another betting round. After the players make their bets another card is turned over by the dealer. This round is called the turn.
After the turn, another round of betting starts again. Then once again a last card is flipped by the dealer. This is the last card with which a player can make his Texas Holdem 5 card hand. A last round of betting starts.
At this point what ever Texas Holdem players are left reveal their hands and the player with the best hand wins.
