Baccarat Made Easy
Baccarat used to be thought of as a game for the rich in the casinos in Monte Carlo. Well this is no longer the truth. In recent years more and more players are learning to play Baccarat.
Baccarat is traditionally a 2 player game. The player with the most money becomes the banker. The banker has the responsibility of dealing the cards.
The object of the game is to make a hand that totals 9 or as close to 9 as you can without going over. This may sound like Blackjack but in Baccarat it is impossible to bust. In black jack you lose if you go over 21 in Baccarat all cards over 9 are revalued at 0 and if a player has a hand that totals over a single digit number the 1st number is dropped. So a hand totaling 13 would be a Baccarat hand of 3.
The banker deals 2 cards to himself and 2 to the player. If either one gets a hand on the draw that totals an 8 or a 9 that player wins. If neither player gets a hand of 8 or 9 on the draw each player may take a 3rd card.
The betting for baccarat is not done by the players; it is all done by the spectators. As a spectator you have 3 betting options. The 1st is on the player to win, the 2nd is for the banker to win and the 3rd is for the banker and player to tie. Because the baccarat banker has the house edge in Baccarat if you bet on the banker and win the Casino takes a 5% rake.
