A Chinese dragon which is the symbol of good fortune opened the doors to the redesigned casino in the city center during a huge and special lunch party.
The event was to commemorate the completion of the refurbishment of the Casino on Princess Street, which is now a state of the art Casino with a new name. It will now be called the Manchester Mint.
The general manager played host to the new and old members and used the image of the dragon because it is seen as a symbol for good luck and good fortune in the Chinese culture. They are hoping it will help assure the success of the new casino.
The Manchester mint now includes a noodle bar marking it as the only casino in the UK to offer such foods. It is also boasts a new state of the art gaming floor, and a newly refurbished bar area with all the latest in electronic gaming technology.
The refurbishment is part of an ongoing 100 million pound project to refurbish all the groups’ casinos.
The General Manager for the casino said: "The party was our way of unveiling the new-look casino and thanking everyone for their patience while work was underway. I'm sure the new look will prove to be a winner with our members."
