Only 19% of the online gamblers in the United States are willing to admit or even are aware that it is illegal. These numbers are from a survey released by the American Gaming Association. The survey showed that the number of Online Gamblers more then doubled in 2005.
The average American gambler is under 40 years old is college educated, male and has the tendency to have more money then other Americans. This is according to the survey that was just released this week. About 4% of the American people have tried gambling at least once online in 2005.
The survey of internet gamblers was conducted by a Research Associates. 70$ of the people who participated stated they started gambling online only within the last 2 years. The people who play online say they enjoy being able to gamble from the comfort of their homes most of the people in the survey said they feel that the online casinos can cheat their players, and another 46% fell that the other players are the ones cheating.
AGA president and CEO said: "Even though our member companies currently aren't involved in the online gaming market, and the overall percentage of Americans who gamble online is relatively small, there's no doubt this issue has captured the attention of the media, members of Congress, and the American public."
