Harrahs Entertainment announced Tuesday the schedule for the reopening of its Grand Casino Biloxi Hotel and Spa. The reopening is scheduled to August 17, 2006 and it is subject to regulatory approvals.
According to Anthony Sanfilippo the president of Harrahs Central Division, the Grand Casino Biloxi opening marks the beginning of the company master plan on Mississippi Gulf Coast. He said the company is excited to help to revive the Gulf Coasts tourism industry and to bring back the casino employees to work.
Grand Casino Biloxi was renovated during the past year. The renewed land based casino would offer about 800 slot machines and 28 table games in addition to a 500 room hotel, several restaurants and a full service spa. Grand Biloxi will provide 1,500 permanent jobs; most of them have been working for Harrahs at the company former Gulf Coast properties.
