A Student from University of Minnesota is returning from spring break with more then just a tan and some drunken stories.
Schneider told the St. Paul Pioneer Press that he did not go on the cruise to play in the tournament. He actually just went as a spectator and to give supports to some friends of his from school who had qualified in some online tournaments, but then he decided it would be stupid to be their and not play. So he borrowed the buy in money from his friends in return for a split of any action.
His mother, who lives in Eagan Minn, was very shocked and pleased to hear about his triumph.
"He's kind of a quiet kid. I think he's a smart boy," Kathy Schneider said. "I knew he was going but, no, I did not expect this. I'm still kind of shocked."
Schneider, who is planning to finish school this year with a degree in journalism has a plan to take a year or 2 off and just play poker and see if he can make some more easy money.
After taxes it is expected that he will get to keep a little more then half the winnings and some of that will have to go to the friends that gave him the buy in money.
